Q: How long have you worked at Wonder Works and what is your favorite part about your job?
I’ve worked for Wonder Works since September 2007 and came to the store from the education field. What began as a temporary job as holiday help has grown into a total and absolute dream job! There are so many parts of my job that I LOVE – choosing one is super difficult! I love getting to work every day with some of the most compassionate, energetic, passionate, and FUN people out there to impact a community that is so AMAZING to be a part of! I also absolutely LOVE the relationships that I’ve forged with customers and am always amazed at how much of their lives they share with us! They come in, and it’s as if we’ve known one another forever. It’s a blessing to watch their families grow and change. I love that most customers bring out of town guests into our stores, as if they are bringing them to meet their very best friends.
Q: What makes Wonder Works unique and why should someone visit the store?
Wonder Works is unique for so many reasons! The way WW impacts its local community and provides a fun-filled shopping atmosphere all at the same time is special and NOT something you find everyday in a business! We try to provide a wonder-filled time, from the moment people cross the threshold of all our locations. We want people to feel welcome and WANTED in our stores, and for the time they spend there. Whether it is a quick 10 minute trip or an hour-long wonder through, we aim to be extraordinary and exciting from start to finish! We love being at Wonder Works everyday and want our customers to love it just as much as we do. In short, people can choose to spend their downtime and shopping time anywhere, and we are always honored when they choose us!

Q: Tell us one of your favorite customer stories.
Last Christmas we helped provide gifts to some children that had very recently – and suddenly – lost their mother. The grandmother came in with a friend and began to do some shopping. She began to tearfully share with us her recent loss and we swung into action – helping her choose the best items, wrapping them with Wonder Works flair, and then – the best part – sending her out of the store with hugs, well wishes, and bags full of items that we didn’t allow her to pay for. When she approached the counter to pay, she was informed by the Wonder Worker that miracles and magic happen, and we would be blessing her family that Christmas with toys, games, and goodies. The toys in no way “fixed” a devastating situation, but they did bring a glimmer of hope to a grieving family and their children at Christmas.
